Not really a boat shoe, to "clunky". I ordered wide as that is what I normally buy. These were way to large in the heel area, so much so that I can't wear.

They run VERY large. We exchanged them 3 times until the size was right. Started with a 12, and wound up a whole size smaller. I love the look and feel of "boat shoes". These are like that, only more sturdy, and very well made. They will last a long time.
