Heavy, but oh sooooo bright! I needed one that was bright. The Apex is incredibly bright; even its low setting is better than my old lamp.
Cons: It has a "Battery Power Meter", an LED that blinks every 3 seconds for 24 hours after the last usage. I covered mine with a piece of electrical tape so that I could keep the lamp in my tent at night, but still get some sleep.

I didn't open it, so can't evaluate its performance. I think I'll get one of the lightweight, LED, headlamps for day hikes, backpacking and climbing.
