Great choice, I love these boots! By H is for Hiking from Athens, Ga on 11/01/2009 Pros: Ankle Support, Arch Support, Comfortable/No Break-In, Flexible, Great Traction, Sturdy/Durable, Warm, Water Resistant Best Uses: Cold Weather, Day Hiking, Everyday, Harsh Terrain, Heavy Loads, Light Loads, Long-Distance Hiking, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I found these boots to be a perfect fit and true to size. The break-in period was quick, however I did develop blisters on my first major hike in these boots. It was a 6+ hour hike on rocky, muddy, and snowy terrain and I took too many steps with loosened laces. I don't really think a longer break-in period would have mattered. My best suggestion, make sure your laces stay tight!
By Weekend Wanderer from Southern Indiana on 10/26/2009 Pros: Arch Support, Comfortable/No Break-In, Great Traction, Sturdy/Durable Best Uses: Day Hiking, Light Loads, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Casual/Recreational Sizing: Feels half size too big Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I ordered this particular boot because several people had said it felt a little big. I vary between a 10 or a 10 1/2, so I am very pleased with the fit... enough room in the toes, and not necessarily wide. I have been out for an hour or two at a time and they have been very comfortable, so minimal breakin is required. Have not actually been in water, but the construction appears watertight. As with any hiking boot, it feels heavy when you first put it on (compared to everyday shoes) but not uncomfortably so and it is not clunky. It has enough flexibility that you don't feel like you are clomping along. Excellent stability and traction. Too soon to say how the suede will wear or look over time, but I really like the way they look new!
By AliHat from Des Moines, IA on 10/18/2009 Pros: Ankle Support, Arch Support, Comfortable/No Break-In, Flexible, Great Traction, Sturdy/Durable, Warm Best Uses: Cold Weather, Day Hiking, Harsh Terrain, Long-Distance Hiking, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer, Casual/Recreational, Environmentalist, Professional/Guide Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Love Asolo shoes, and they ARE waterproof - however, I traded this one for another that was a bit lighter for over sea's travels and less strenuous occasions.
