By fishmhard from Lodi ca. on 10/30/2009 Pros: Durable, Line Doesn't Tangle, Reliable, Smooth Drag System, Smooth Reeling Describe Yourself: Avid Fisher Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Great little trout reel to use on 904 Powell rod to teach Grand kids and beginners. Just can't beat the quality and price on this reel and if it gets a few nicks that's ok too.
By Strada from Seattle on 09/11/2009 Pros: Durable, Reliable, Smooth Drag System, Smooth Reeling Best Uses: Fly Fishing, River Fishing, Shore Casting Describe Yourself: Avid Fisher Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This reel is cast and machined aluminum with the drag system housing and adjustment knob being injection molded. The cork disc drag is partially visible via a gap between the drag housing and reel. Thus not suitable for salt water use since maintenance will necessitate dismantling the whole reel and drag. It's a robust reel for the relatively low price. The fit of the spool and reel is good and operation is smooth. Great reel for the novice or for a knock around set up for the mountain lakes and rivers.
