By hiker from slc Ut on 08/26/2009 Pros: Durable, Lightweight, Warm, Waterproof Best Uses: Backcountry, Casual Wear, Downhill, Hiking Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Just got the coat and am very pleased. Can't wait for the temp to drop. I ordered the Large- I typically wear 12-14 top. This coat fits with one thick layer under it. It is lined with a fine soft fleece backing. The green color is beautiful and rich. I only wish the powder skirt was detachable. But all in alll, a great coat. with an additional 30% off- this coat was a STEAL!
Great Product, normally overpriced! By Tman from Oklahoma on 07/22/2009 Pros: Breathable, Durable, Waterproof, Wind Resistant Best Uses: Backcountry, Casual Wear, Downhill, Hiking Describe Yourself: Advanced Chest Size: Feels true to size Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living, Winter Sports Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: To start, I'm a 10-15 day skier/boarder per year. However, I would be considered intermediate-to-advanced on both accounts. This has to be one of the best jackets I have ever seen, and I have had a fair few over the last 20 years. I've owned everything from Burton/Analog to North Face to cheapos, and this one is at the top. I bought this jacket for my girlfriend in the Hemlock color, and it is absolutely beautiful... she loves it. When she doubted the waterproof ability I held it under the sink for a few minutes, and she was dry as can be. It has a flattering athletic shape, and just enough pockets (in the right places, too). She is 5'6" and 115lbs. and a small fits her perfectly. It even has room for a North Face Denali fleece snugly. Good on the torso length, good on sleeve length with just a little extra to play with. We have not been to the mountains yet this year, but she will certainly be wearing this. Arc'teryx is usually out of the range I'm willing to pay, but with the Sierra Trading Post's price + a 30% off coupon, I just couldn't say no. I liked this jacket so much, in fact, I bought myself the men's version in black. I am now awaiting that jacket in the mail and will write a similar size review when it is received. Hope this helps.
