By EA from Atlanta from Atlanta, Georgia on 08/27/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction, Stable Best Uses: Backcountry, Day hikes, Everyday Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I normally can not wear tennis shoes or normal hiking boots/shoes because of heel pain. I LIVE in Chaco sandals and Birkenstocks. These Chaco Hiking Boots are the first laced shoes that can compare to my favorite sandals in support of both the arch and relieve pressure from the heel. The weight of the bottom of foot is evenly distributed with a very low to neutral shoe heel height. I loved these so much after I received them and tried them for a day that I ordered a second pair before they sold out!

Tried them on and they feel quite nice!
Buy while you can - Discontinued! By GreyCat from SoCal on 08/07/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction, Stable Best Uses: Cold weather, Day hikes, Everyday, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Outdoor Professional Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Chaco both started and quit making these recently, which is a real shame since they are the most comfortable light hikers I've ever worn. Needed to replace my old classic Merrell Appalachians, but until now couldn't find anything that felt as nice. The Canyonlands may be up to some back country, I haven't tried yet, but they do not feel as solid as some of the really hard-core boots. They have that *great* Chaco arch support and feel just as good after a long hike as they did starting out. If they're in your size, be sure to grab them while they last!!!
