By hiking and herding and agility, oh my! from saratoga springs, NY on 11/15/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Great Traction, Light weight, Stable, Waterproof Cons: Not warm, Slightly too-firm insole Best Uses: Backcountry, Day hikes, Everyday, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I like this shoe! I haven't had it long enough to speak about long-term durability, but it feels as if it will take a beating - while not feeling heavy on my feet. For cold weather, I would want heavier socks, as the shoe does not keep my feet warm. BUT - this shoe has room for hiking socks, and yet it's not too loose with my everyday cotton socks. I work my dogs in rally obedience, agility, herding, and carting. It is delightful to have footwear that I can move fast in, change direction quickly, walk the trails - AND have dry feet at the end!!! The only downside I have found in this product is that the insole seems slightly "bony". It's not uncomfortable, but almost. Not sure I'd want to wear this shoe all day every day. However, I've only had it a short time - it may soften up a bit as it breaks in. It's perfect for what I bought it for, and has potential for many other activities. I like it!
