I got these shoes because I want to continue running even though the weather is changing. They were stiff for the first couple of days, but felt fully broken in very quickly. Yesterday I wore them to run on the mountain for the first time. We have gotten a lot of rain lately, but I had no idea just how wet, muddy and slick conditions would be. There were actual creeks flowing down some of the trails! However, my feet stayed dry and comfortable and I had great traction. If I had been wearing regular running shoes, I would definitely have had to turn back. These shoes live up to there claims and are well worth the price!
By petunia periwinkle from montana on 10/20/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Stable, Water Resistant Best Uses: Day hikes, Everyday, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Sizing: Feels half size too big Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Nice, affordable trail running or light hiking shoe that hopefully will hold up in rainy weather--don't know yet. Shoe seems to run wide, and has extra room in the toe area. I wear a size 8 wide, and bought 8 1/2 medium, and they are a bit roomy for me up in front, but I will still keep them as its hard to find running shoes at a good price that have some extra width.
By JP from richmond, va on 10/16/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction, Stable, Waterproof Best Uses: Backcountry, Cold weather, Hard surface walking, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I walk several miles on concrete. The insoles are good, but shoes are roomy enough for a more padded insole. Waterproof, but a little stiff in one foot. The best support of any shoe that I have found.
