The may be comfy, but they are of very low quality. Poor showing, Montrail!

The higher boot provides great ankle stability on the irregular terrain and also protects the ankle from scrapes. It is not waterproof which has never been a problem for me. They dry fast if I do get wet ~ which I have. If you are hiking flat terrain the 1/2 size up will do. However, I purchased these a full size up so that my toes wouldn't cram on the way down steep terrain. I replaced my others (exactly like these) that were 1/2 size up for the full size. Perfect! I have a narrow, low-profile foot. If you have a chubbier foot you might want to go up 1 1/2 sizes.
