Second impression: not quite a jacket. On the body, it feels more like a long cardigan sweater. Maybe it's because the fabric, while it seems to be sturdy and of high quality, is also very "drapey" and flexible. This item is well-constructed and the color is just gorgeous. Although it is not exactly what I expected, it is versatile and I look forward to wearing it frequently.

The seed stitch fabric is beautiful but so substantial that the belted jacket made me look bulky around the middle. Then I tried it on without the belt--the lines are much more flattering. Hanging open over a black top and narrow black pants, it looks terrific. After I've snipped off the belt loops and stitched down the facing on the lapels, I will have a jacket I love.
