The design allows for layers underneath. It is very warm and the material is of high quality. This is best for casual occasions as it is not shaped to flatter but to keep you warm and comfortable. A great garment with expert tailoring and lots of pockets. The hood is nice and is an integral part of the look of this comfortable jacket. It really keeps out the wind. The lining is quilted. Beautiful workmanship. I am surprised that it is so light.

For everyday use and travel.
It runs a bit large. I usually wear a German size 36 and this coat feels more like a size 40. But since it is such a nice coat, I will keep it anyway.
I suggest that you order one size down to be on the save side.
