Turn belt upside down lying flat and pry open the buckle with a flat head screw driver. Remove buckle.2. Put belt on and bring both ends around until they are parallel, marking where the previous buckled end meets the middle punch hole.3. Using that mark, cut off excess belt. Do not cut the end that contains the punch holes.4. Slide the cut end back into the buckle and firmly press down on the clasp until it is secure.

This belt is very well made and the buckle is serviceable and looks fine. I would have given it a 5 if the buckle was just a bit better, but it is OK and I don't intend to replace it. I wear a size 44 belt so I didn't have to shorten it. It was exactly the same length as other size 44 belts I own. It was perfect out of the box. I wear it when I want to dress up a bit. For example, I wore it to the ballet.

Well made, i like the 'one size, cut to fit.' Even the buckle not too bad. i have had to send back other bargain belts either because they were wrong size or just too cheaply made. This belt has nice weight, finish and you size it yourself. Great deal.

Folks at Sierra tried to find another, but were unable to help. Belt itself was worth keeping so I'm hunting for another buckle that fits and looks better.It's a matte crocodile belt, I'd use with a suit, blazer, or even with good looking jeans. A classic, and with the right buckle, outstanding.
