It's a medium to heavy weight knit, so no wrinkles. The red is a beautiful berry so would go with almost any basic (black, navy, grey, etc.) I imagine it would wash well by hand. The real problem is sizing -- it's at least one size too small through the body. Because I don't like things to be form-fitting, I usually buy a medium in knit tops but would have needed a large in this. It may also be short in the sleeves but I couldn't be sure.
