Great ski bag for the money By Avalanche Bob from New York City, NY on 08/08/2008 Pros: Lightweight, Protective Cons: Smallish "shoulder" strap Describe Yourself: Advanced Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Padded protection good. Ample storage for skis up to 205 cm; PLENTY OF ROOM for extras (sox, underwear, etc). Stress points on straps well riveted and bar-tacked. A long, adjustable strap (with clip) reduces overall bag length to accommodate shorter skis; the excess strap kind of dangles...a little annoying. Handle straps have comfort pad; can be a bit tight if used as a shoulder strap. Outside zippered gusseted pocket (17"l x 6"w x 2"d), ample for books, travel papers, gloves, etc. Bag uses near-full length DOUBLE-ended zipper, both zips can meet in the middle under the handle, or at either end. Nice navy blue color with black accents, gray straps. I think this one is a winner, time will tell. No telling what those "luggage handlers" at the airport can do, I once had truck tire treadmarks on my luggage years ago and everything inside was crushed FLAT and destroyed.
By mjapple from Denver, CO on 05/24/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Protective Best Uses: Day Trips, Travel Describe Yourself: Advanced Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Have used this bag a couple of times, as well as on the plane. Stood up well, even with a couple of transfers. Straps are comfortable to haul around, though the capacity is pushing it for my wide skis. Still a great bag for me.
By Ski bum from Philadelphia, PA on 05/07/2008 Pros: Great Capacity, Protective Best Uses: Extended Trips, Travel Describe Yourself: Advanced Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I've had ski High Sierra bags before and they've always been good quality. My last one was several years old and in great shape before it got eaten by an airport luggage carousel.
This new one is contructed well, with extra padding near the binding area. I have not carried the skis in them yet, but the straps look pretty good.
