Lots of features, ample space--too much? By Hiker chick from Cambridge, MA on 09/13/2008 Pros: Great Zipper System, Lightweight Best Uses: Backpacking, Car Camping Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Minimalist Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought this bag looking for a light summer bag I could easily carry for a low weight overnight. This one was both more and less than I bargained for. I thought it had a hood, like the right-zip version. No, there's no hood (though this cuts several oz of weight). I also can't find info anywhere whether the L and R versions would zip together if we'd bought both. I am a small woman, and this bag was AMPLE for me, pretty ample even for my 5'-10" BF (although he'd be sleeping with his head above top, and it'd be a cave for me). It is lightweight, and the full length zip and foot room are pure basecamp luxury. However, the stuffed size is 6" longer (1/3!) than the Golite daze, which is the one I'm settling on. Regrettably, small stuff size trumps the Shavano's equally light weight with more features and larger stuff size. Also the Daze offered a short model, and I truly need that in a unisex bag.
