Keep feet dry from deep slushy snow but gets a little sweaty. I'd guess these would be great kids boots to keep feet dry in the snow or rain. Velcro strap could use a metal ring to allow cinching tight rather than having to manually compress the fabric and press the velcro together. I'm guessing that kids may not get the ankles very tight if they dress themselves. May need parental help to get right. Overall, though, a very functional boot.

Drawstring needs some way to hold it closed, and doesn't have any mechanism other than tying it, which is then difficult to undo.
