We went hiking the other day and a multitude of other parents commented on how great the pack looked. It was far more comfortable than my internal frame pack I use for overnight hikes. It's only drawback is that our little one couldn't see over my head so he kept shifting his weight from side to side making it a bit uncomfortable at times.
By Hiking Mommy from Northern Virginia on 06/26/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Roomy Cons: No accessable pockets, Not adjustable enough Best Uses: Baby carrying, Hiking Describe Yourself: Practical Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I needed a baby carrier backpack to use on day hikes and around town and so far this pack is working out pretty well. I find it a little difficult to get on and off unless I use a bench, but I'm sure I'll get the hang of it. It works great when my husband and I are together, but if I'm alone, I can't get into any of the pockets without taking the pack (and baby) off my back. That means if I'm using it around town, I have to find a way to carry my wallet/phone. I'd like it better if there were at least a pocket or two on the straps/hip belt to hold a cell phone or small wallet.
The baby likes the pack and seems comfortable in it. My only concern on his part is that he'll reach the 30 lb (baby + gear) weight limit too fast!
I didn't think the zip-off diaper bag feature was going to be useful, but I've already used it several times. Images shared by: Hiking MommyHitting the trails Tags: Using Product
By Ashley from Idaho on 06/04/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Comfortable, Durable, Lightweight, Neat Features, Roomy Describe Yourself: Comfort-Oriented, Practical, Stylish Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought this carrier so I could take my 7 month old daughter for hikes and just around town. My biggest concern in purchasing a child carrier was whether or not I would be able to manage it alone. So far, I haven't had any trouble. It fits me great, (I'm 5'5 140), But my boyfriend said it was a little small (he's 6'1 180) And my little Frances LOVES it!
