I've dropped these on every kind of surface and even closed them into a car door. The lenses are still scratch free! Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I love these sunglasses for driving and playing sand volleyball. They have also been great for boating and biking. The tint could be slightly darker, but adequate. Also, the nose piece,etc are not rubberized. However, they do not slide due to their light weight and wrap around feature.
