By norockets from Kodiak, AK on 06/18/2008 Pros: Accurate Casting, Durable, Easy To Transport Best Uses: Fly Fishing, Large Fish, River Fishing Describe Yourself: Avid Fisher Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I used the 6W 10' 4 piece rod for rainbow fishing in Katmai this year. I quickly discovered that this rod functions best when you go up one line weight; in other words, I fished a 7WFF line. Once I changed to the 7w line, the rod cast admirably and handled large rainbows quite well. I'm thinking of purchasing the 5w to use with 6w line. It's a stiff rod (which I like) and for me, cast everything from weighted leeches to nymphs very well.
