Perfect for day hikes or short hikes By DK from Oak Harbor, WA on 07/31/2008 Pros: Durable, Easy to Pack, Good Back Support, Good Padding, Strong Zippers Cons: Top slants down reducing Best Uses: Backpacking, Camping Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational What Is Your Gear Style: Minimalist Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I've used this pack for a day hike with my husband and four children. It worked great for all six of our water containers, first aid kit and extra layers of cloths. Soon I'll be using it for a four day hike in the Northern cascades for just myself. Can't wait to try it out. So far so good.
By tahoedawg from south lake tahoe ca on 07/17/2008 Pros: Durable, Easy to Pack, Good Back Support, Good Padding Best Uses: Backpacking, Camping, Extended Travel, Short Travel, Weekend Trips Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Comfort Driven Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: i have way too many backpacks, but this is my favorite- i got the men's style for myself and i liked it so much i got the women's style for my wife. it needs a simple modification to make it perfect- just get a 3/4" quick release buckle and rearrange the upper compression straps so the load bypasses the main zipper (easier to do than it sounds). great suspension system, very nice pocket arrangement, perfect size for long dayhikes in changeable conditions or a very minimalist overnighter. very highly recommended!
