Comments: The first feeling is that it is quite heavy and not soft enough. Fortunately I have got used to it now.

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Bought these primarily for outdoor use and have no problem with quality or how long I expect them to last. I do have a wide foot and while the straps can be adjusted to accomodate this, there is some chafing from the front strap. Like many other kinds of sandals, if you wear them enough, your feet will harden up to offset this minor annoyance. I'm impressed with the hardness of the sole - should hold up for a long time, unlike the rubber on Birks, that shows wear spots after a few months. For anyone who wears sandals a lot (April through September?) this would be a good addition for when you want a tougher model. Another minor point: the tread pattern is nice and simple so it won't track as much mud into the house.
