By Matt the Californian from East Bay, CA on 09/09/2008 Pros: Easy To Carry, Strong Material, Tight Closure, Waterproof Best Uses: Adventure Racing, Backpacking, Canoeing, Kayaking, Paddling, Sailing, Watersports Describe Yourself: Competitive Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Small but very functional. I've used it now on a kayaking trip, and it works great for holding small essentials -- like keys, wallets, maps, etc. It is compact, so you might want to consider the 15 or 25L if you want to carry perishable items so as not to squash them so easily!
Not sure what the complaint is about durability. Rocks can be damaging to just about any stuff sacks that I've ever used. If you inflate this bag and throw it out of your kayak on a beach with sharp rocks....well, yeah, you might expect to get a puncture or two. But most people will take care of their gear better than that.
A perfect size if you need something to cinch onto the back of your backpack. It fits perfectly into the corded system of my Osprey thru-pack.
My feelings are that the 15L LTW Pneumos are probably more useful in general...and for only a few cents more! The 15L actually rolls down pretty small when you need it to, and gives you more flexibility to hold stuff. Weight difference is minimal.
I have one of these and that's enough. Great item, but I think I'll be purchasing a couple of additional 15L bags.
I you need LIGHT and DRY this is it. By AR MOUNTAIN BIKER from ARKANSAS OZARKS on 07/15/2008 Pros: Easy To Carry, Good Capacity, Tight Closure, Waterproof Best Uses: Motorcycle camping Describe Yourself: Recreational Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Since space is a major concern, the ability to compress bulky items is a BIG plus. I ride in the rain and this bag keeps my stuff DRY.
Lightweight drysack for backpacking By Crazy J from Colorado Springs, CO on 06/11/2008 Pros: Easy To Carry, Lightweight Describe Yourself: Recreational Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I used this bag to pack equipment for a 2 day canoe trip. After an extended time underwater, items inside were wet. The lightweight material needs to be protected from abrasion. I'd recommend this bag more for backpacking than for rafting/canoeing.
