He was the only one on the trek who had the right headgear. They had hot sun, cold nights, thunderstorms, hail, wind, dust, etc. This hat survived it all. He had it branded at the cattle ranch at the end of the trip which was quite cool. My mother loved the hat so much that I bought another for her.
