I have several pairs but these are the first that I have purchased with an ankle strap and I love them. I was concerned that the ankle strap might cause friction or be uncomfortable, but it is great. They feel more protective and secure than slip-on birks for riding my bike or lots of walking (especially stairs). And, the added strap helps reduce the calf strain that can come from having to curl your toes with every step in slip-on birks.
