Hands and dial markers glow 100 times brighter than other luminous watches, and provide continuous illumination for more than 25 years. Tiny self-powered micro gas lights are firmly embedded in the hands, hour indicators and the turning ring, and need no external light source to charge.

I'm not crazy about the original metal band. I love watches in general and haven't seen a Luminox at this price before. The sapphire crystal is also a big bonus as most have a mineral crystal which can scratch more easily.
