By Jen from Madison, WI on 09/21/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Easy Entry & Exit, Good Traction, Warm, Waterproof Best Uses: Cold Weather, Snow, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought these boots, even after seeing the low customer rating, primarily because of my wet feet after walking to work in the Wisconsin winters. These boots are awesome. 2 miles/day, 4 days/week at the LEAST for one season so-far, and they still look brand new. Can't wait for winter!
By riss from Farifax, CA on 02/24/2009 Pros: Good Traction, Warm, Waterproof Cons: Bulky, Heavy, Not Comfortable Best Uses: After Skiing/Snowboarding, Cold Weather, Slippery Terrain, Snow, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living, Winter Sports Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I loved the idea of these boots, they were exactly what I was looking for to use on my trips to colorado and NY during the winter, for hikes, snowshoeing etc. But the 8 1/2 was WAY too big - at least a size, and even then, they were VERY uncomfortable, something about the way the shoe bends and crushes the front of your foot. I returned them.
Great Idea...poor implementation By Morning Walker 48 from Massachusetts on 06/06/2008 Pros: Good Traction, Waterproof Cons: Heavy, Not Comfortable Best Uses: Snow, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: These boots are certainly waterproof and will keep your feet dry. I tried them for hiking in tall wet grass where my boots get consistantly soaked.
However, the fit is difficult to get used to as the inner laces start about 2 inches higher than a normal boot. As a result, you get a tight line across the top of your foot that feels like a poorly done steel toe cap digging into the top of your foot with every step. As much as I wanted these to work, they did not---just too uncomfortable.
