It's warm, but it breathes as well so it works under a jacket.
Zipped all the way up the collar is still comfortable as is the lining definitely keeps your neck warm.
While I personally feel the sleeves are a bit on the long side, they're the same as my other Columbia sweaters of this size (if that helps for comparison).
