They seem to fit me perfectly (prior to washing, we'll see what happens thereafter). Unless there's a terrible quality control or labeling problem I can't imagine anyone would think these run too large in the waist. They are what they purport to be: lounge wear. They should be excellent for kicking around the house in warm to hot weather.
