By Mr. Cong from East Orange, N.J. on 09/23/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Durable, Warm, Windproof Best Uses: Casual Wear, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Purchased this jacket for my oldest son to wear during our frequent Northeast rains this summer, and the jacket did as it was advertised. In addition, though casual, it stood well above jackets from other makers interms of quality, performance, and looks.
This will not be my last Lowe Alpine purchase.
By Tim-in-NC from Raleigh, NC on 09/11/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Stylish, Warm Best Uses: Casual Wear, Cold Weather, Skiing/Snowboarding Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Nice jacket but maybe a bit bulky and heavy for summer use. The total package (jacket and removeable skirt and hood) weighs (size small on my scale) 24.8 oz; the skirt weighs 2.2 oz and the hood weighs 3.8 oz. So the jacket still weighs 18.8 oz without the hood and skirt. Pit zips are on the tricep area of the sleeve; small pocket is on left wrist; also an interior pocket and two front pockets. Neck area is a softer material. Not a fan of the removeable hood (hangs very bulky on shoulders if not wearing it). Overall it seems more designed for snow/winter use. Don't know about the breathability of Triplepoint but it seems very waterproof.
By High School boy scout from northeastern MA on 07/14/2009 Pros: Durable, Lightweight Cons: Not Enough Pockets or Features Best Uses: Hiking and Camping, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This jacket serves the purpose and looks great overall. Outside pockets open to the front instead of the side, so a bit awkward for putting hands in but not huge. Not a lot of interior storage pockets. Hood flaps that close in front of neck are a bit wide. Still, good deal for the price I paid.
