worked very well elk hunting By TetonRon from Jackson Hole, WY on 10/27/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Warm Best Uses: Cold Weather, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Used this jacket for two weeks elk and mule deer hunting in the east Idaho mountains. Temps ranged from 0 to 58 degrees with winds as high as 45 mph. With layering this jacket was perfect for stalking and glassing for hours on windy ridges at below freezing temps. Repelled snow, ice and rain with no problems whatsoever and held up in thick brush. I'm sure a jacket 5 times the cost might perform better but I dont know how
By The Tundra Warrior. from Naparyaraq, AK on 09/26/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Lightweight, Warm Best Uses: Casual Wear, Cold Weather, Hiking and Camping, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I use the product for everyday wear especially in wet weather. The pockets are great (pockets in pockets) useful when hunting. Keeps extra ammo in pockets in a secure place instead of just being loose in the pocket making noise when moving. Like the pockets in the chest both left and right.
Columbia quality, Good price By Mcdeleven from Wasilla, AK on 09/18/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable Cons: Inadequate Protection Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Bought jacket and pants for Alaska moose hunt in mid September '09. Good Product. Does repel light rain but don't think it would work very well in a downpour. The fabric is quiet, hardly made any noise walking through alders and willows. One complaint I have is the snaps don't work well. I would definitely suggest getting a liner for the coat if you are in near or below freezing temperatures.
