By Nicknameless from Wisconsin on 08/25/2009 Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought this vest on a whim, unusual for me, and while I'm sure I'll find a good use for it once the weather turns brisk in September, I'm not sure exactly what that use will be. It's too nice to be worn as I'd wear a down vest, for casual knock-around use, but it's not exactly dressy either. The issue really is the zip-up collar. I'll wear the collar down (so will you), but what exactly is the point of a collar on a vest -- a collar that would zip up to my nostrils if I let it? The collar and the lining (which shows) keep the vest from being really dressy, but the collar isn't exactly functional either. I guess it's just a look. The off-center front buckles are another strange aspect. You could describe the whole garment as fun, bold, or odd, depending on your style and fashion sense. The quality is great. The wool tweed is excellent. Oh, and the sizing is a bit large. I'm a 40 and the medium fits just fine; maybe it's a touch roomier than it would need to be.
By Wild Zoo Lady from Salt Lake City, UT on 01/14/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Comfortable, Durable, Warm Describe Yourself: Classic Dresser Sizing: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels too long Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I thought this vest might look nice on a woman (me). But it didn't work. The cut was too long and straight, and the collar, which I wanted to wear up, was way to high. Great quality otherwise, but I sent this item back.
I would recommend this to a MALE friend but not to a woman.
