By In the Dark from Rockville, MD on 10/14/2009 Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I got it two years ago for the occasional power outages we have, and have used it 3 times for less than an hour. This last time the crank handle broke where it meets the circular base. It's indeed flimsy. Since the crank is essential, I wouldn't recommend this product.
By Dr J from Cedar Rapids on 06/15/2009 Cons: Dim, Light duty pun intended Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Not a bright floodlight, but ok for light duty emergency backup in home or car. So just turn it around and crank it if your lefthanded, quit complaining about the righthanded world conspiracy.
Not as cheap as I expected By Phoenix from Mid-Missouri on 05/29/2008 Pros: Bright, Durable, Rubberized exterior, Stable Best Uses: Car Camping, Day trip, Emergency Kit Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I was pleasantly surprised to find this flashlight covered in a rubbery outer, rather than just cheap plastic as it looks in the picture. It's a nice little flashlight and the radio functions well. The light on the handle is only a red flasher, though, and I thought it was like a lantern bar. Great 4 keeping in the car or basement 4 emergencies. Not too big, not too small.
