Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Got the 10 weight to use as a salmon and bass rod - would be an okay saltwater rod for the budget minded - pleased with the performance - not necessarily a true fast action rod but does have plenty enough backbone to throw large flies -which was my hope - 4 piece construction is a real plus for transportability - cheap cardboard case that came with the rod not suited for this however.
