By AKrambler from Seattle, WA on 11/10/2008 Pros: Accurate Casting, Easy To Transport, Good Tip Action Describe Yourself: Avid Fisher Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Of all my rods, I can place my fly with this rod better than any other. If the fish aren't biting, I will aim at a leaf floating down the river about 45 feet away and I can hit 8 out of 10 times. Can't say that about any of my other rods. Have the 5 wt. Have had the rod for about a year now and I am quite pleased with it. Not the smoothest, but like I said, VERY accurate casting, no matter if I use a floating or sinking line.
By vwh from mt on 07/08/2008 Pros: Accurate Casting, Easy To Transport, Good Tip Action, Sensitive Describe Yourself: Avid Fisher Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: The Tiboron and Tiboron II are excellent in 4 wt. 5 was good, too, but I broke mine and Powell does not repair this model. Instead, they sent their new model, which casts like a stick. Customer support is disappointing.
Great fly rod for the money By John in AK from Eagle River, Alaska on 12/13/2007 Pros: Accurate Casting, Fast Action, Light, Loads Easily, Sensitive Cons: Lower grade components Best Uses: Distance Casting Describe Yourself: Avid Fisher Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I purchased an 8-weight and have used the rod for less than 1 full season, but have been impressed by its performance. I've primarily used it to throw a saltwater intermediate line and love the way the rod loads and shoots line. It has added roughly 10 ft to my cast over a similarly priced competitor.
