These are sooo comfortable! By Triple7Moto from APO, AP on 11/07/2008 Pros: High-Quality Material and Stitching, Lightweight, Loose fit, Packable, Very Soft, Whisper-light Cons: Not Enough Pockets or Features Best Uses: Camping, Casual Wear, Hiking, Travel Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I couldn't find a comparable women's style, so I gave these a try. I am 5'9" and solidly built. The length is perfect and the loose fit is very comfortable. This fabric is AMAZING; it is water resistant, quite stretchy, seems durable, and so light-weight! I can't wait for more styles using this type of fabric. The pocket situtation is the only drawback; putting anything heavy or bulky in these pockets is very unflattering to the female physique due to the placement of the pockets (sort of in the front), and lack of rear pockets. But, then again, the fabric is so lightweight that it doesn't lend itself to carrying large loads. That's why I wouldn't recommend it for backpacking, as I like to have cargo pockets for essentials. Wish they had my husband's size.
Wair as pajama pants or snow pants By Mike from Minneapolis on 11/01/2008 Pros: Breathable, High-Quality Material and Stitching, Lightweight, Packable, Stylish Best Uses: Backpacking, Camping, Casual Wear, Hiking Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These pants are very comfortable and water-resistant. Having just received them I was anxious to see how water resistant these pants were. I held them under a running water and they showed no signs of absorbed any!
I intend to ware tights and possibly fleece pants under these and use them for skiing and winter camping.
Having read other reviews saying that they waist is too large, I ordered a size down. Because the waste is so stretchy they fit, but I would recommend sizing the waist according the the fitting chart. However I would agree that they are long - which I like a lot.
My only knock on these is the pockets. The side pockets do not zip and there are no rear pockets. I also would have liked a place to put a key when running.
Overall a great pants!
