Given the style, maybe it should be snugger overall, but the waist is not disproportionate. It is a great shirt for less than [$]., but I would never pay [$]. for it.

Love the Feel, size is a bit odd By Joe Smith from Las Cruces, NM on 01/20/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Lightweight, Moisture Wicking, Stylish Best Uses: Cycling, Gym, Layering, Running, Warm Weather Describe Yourself: Frequent Exerciser Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: -I own several non-cotton shirts, and this is by far the nicest. The fabric is extremely comfortable and dries quickly. I live in the desert which makes it extremely useful for outdoor activities.
-The minor downside- The previous reviews are correct in saying that it is a little more loose fitting than I would like. It fits well in the shoulders (true to size, I wear large/ ordered a large) but it is loose around the belly. This would be a bigger ordeal except when I am wearing it I am usually sweaty and not to concerned with how it looks.
