Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
I haven't yet had the chance to field test this jacket. It seems sturdy and well made, able to withstand most cold weather work. However, I must point out a couple of things:
1. The drawstrings seem to tend towards shredding a bit.
2. The sleeves are too bulky! They could have been cut slimmer, and unless you have HUGE arms, you're not filling these things in.
Potentially recommended, though it could be improved upon, primarily in regards to the bulk of it. It will, however, suffice to keep me warm when I'm working!
