By seekonk from Berkeley, CA on 05/30/2009 Pros: Baggy Functional pockets, Comfortable, High Quality Cons: Sits Too High Above Waist, Wrinkles Easily Best Uses: Light weight for summer Describe Yourself: Casual Dresser Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I am wearing these pants over a swim suit to the pool. They would also be good for biking, walking & other fitness activities; but not suitable for dressy sportswear as the cut on the legs is way oversized.
I am 5'2" & 150 pounds. The size 12 Capri was a good length to wear out of the box as full-length pants. The leg pockets were big enough to fit an iPod of any size or clamshell or candy bar cell phone on one side; & a slim wallet or credit cards, ID & folding money on the other. The downside of the pockets is that they are fastened with a button instead of velcro & therefore take 2 hands to open.
In my case, it will be necessary to wear these pants with an over shirt tucked out or with a belt because the fit is quite loose at the waist & the waist band facing is not stiff enough to stand up on its own.
These pants cannot easily be altered even if you sew because of the intricate construction & stitchery.
By Griffin's pal from Western MA on 11/07/2008 Cons: Stains Easily, Wrinkles Easily Describe Yourself: Casual Dresser Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I don't know what it is with pants these days, but why is is that size 6 from years ago fit great but size 4 now are huge?! These pants were no exception. The waist was pretty big for a size 4. The style of the pants is cute but they wrinkle easily and the material seems to be a dirt magnet- and since they are light in color that isn't so good.
By HikerBiker from WA on 08/20/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Flattering, High Quality, Light weight, Versatile, Washes Well Best Uses: Everyday wear, Hiking Describe Yourself: Bargain Shopper, Casual, Classic, Outdoorsy Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Well, Columbia didn't let me down! Every pair of Columbia pants I've bought has fit really well, and these were no exception. They are a good capri you can wear nearly everywhere in warm weather. The pockets on the legs are handy for throwing a cell phone or wallet in, only if you're in a hurry the button is a little hard to unclasp. The only other thing I'm not crazy about is the back pockets, but then I'm really picky! However, I'd recommend them to anyone who is looking for a good capri.
