By Penny from Charlottesville, VA on 08/12/2009 Pros: Comfortable, High-Quality Material and Stitching, Lightweight, Packable Cons: Not Enough Pockets or Features Best Uses: Backpacking, Camping, Hiking Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: The material for these pants is very hardy. The "just below the waist" fit is very comfortable. It might be better if it had a drawstring at the waist (I've found myself hoisting them up a couple of times).
The extra room in the knees is useful. Also, the zippers work well and easily. It is very easy to zip the legs on and off. The shorts are a good length.
The only other thing that would make these pants perfect would be deeper pockets.
Overall, for the price these are great pants and I would buy them again.
By Busy mom of 4 from North Bend, OR on 07/30/2009 Pros: Comfortable, High-Quality Material and Stitching, Lightweight, Packable Best Uses: Backpacking, Camping, Casual Wear, Hiking, Travel Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I love Mountain Hardware clothes and have several other pairs of their pants. I liked the price and style on these. But when I got them, the waist is very short. They hit me about 4" below my natural waist. There were no belt loops or way to tighten the waist, either. The pants would have been great, but I was very concerned about them falling down and riding so low, so I returned them.
By surfgoddess79 from Huntington Beach, CA on 07/09/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, High-Quality Material and Stitching, Lightweight, Packable Cons: No belt, Not Enough Pockets or Features Best Uses: Casual Wear, Travel Describe Yourself: Outdoor Professional Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I wore these canyoneering. While the material is much more rugged than other pants (TNF) and held up, there are 2 serious design flaws. There is no belt or belt loops. So they are not comfortable with a heavily loaded pack and you can't tighten a belt to keep your shirt tucked in, the red ants out of your crack, and the poison oak off your back. There are no cargo pockets to carry snacks, knife, etc. Just one cheesy pocket with a flimsy zipper. Great for travel wear. They look really good.
