Its "crocheted" fabric was thin and spiderweblike. The top just looked cheap and the ostensible 1960-ish floral ornamentation, per the product description in the catalogue, looked garish and quite stupid. Oh, ick.

Must be layered. It is beautiful, very soft and delicate. Seems to be of good quality. Yes, I would recomend to a friend, although I have not had an occassion to wear it or wash it.
