By Raquel from Bellingham WA on 02/12/2008 Pros: Lightweight, Waterproof, Wind Resistant Cons: Not Enough Pockets or Features Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Chest Size: Feels true to size Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend this is a nice shell... I originally ordered a medium but it was Huge on me. Exchanged it for a small (I'm 5'5" and about 125#) which fits just right.
The drawbacks: that there are no handwarmer pockets, only chest pockets. The only other thing is the sleeve-cuff velcro was not well designed.. there is no middle ground.. only fully open or closed so tight I have to undo the velcro to put my (smallish) hand in or take it out of the sleeve.
other than this, I like this jacket, and it's certainly an improvement over the old nylon shell I was using.
By Thumbs from Seattle, WA on 01/28/2008 Pros: Lightweight, Waterproof, Wind Resistant Best Uses: Hiking, camping Describe Yourself: Advanced Gear Usage: Hiking camping Sleeve Length: Feels too long Bottom Line: Comments: I ordered this then once I'd received it went back to make sure that this was indeed a woman's jacket - the sleeves are about five inches too long and the hood looks like I could wear a motorcycle helmet underneath it. I'll use this for typical Seattle winter weather - 40 degrees and damp, so at least I'll have room for layers underneath, but I'm not quite sure why it is sized so oddly.
