No, it's not for 1000 yard shots. If that's what you want, spend $1000-$4000 on a high end scope!

ROCK from Canada on 08/12/2009 Pros: Accurate, Quality Lenses, Strong Construction Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I own several Pentax Gameseekers, two of which are the 3-9x40 model. They are great scopes within their limitations, the significant one being the short eye relief. I wouldn't recommend them for any rifle with more recoil than .270/30-06 class. My scopes have the Precision Plex reticle, which works great, but the simplicity of the single Plex reticle is better for most hunters.
