By T-Roy from Baja, Mexico on 09/21/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Compact, Lightweight Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I attempted to use this as a supplemental rucksack for upland wingshooting. Fell apart on me while in the field. Three zippers dead-in-the-water. Terrible design. Left me stranded with stuff falling out all over the place.
Sizeable useful pack with some drawbacks By elkhunter from Idaho on 09/14/2008 Pros: Adequate capacity, Good padding, Lighted Cons: Light difficult to use, Noisy zippers, Stiff zippers Best Uses: Day trip, Hiking Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Comfort Driven Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I've been using this pack for elk hunting for a couple weeks now. I have found it to be adequate in size for all the gear and clothes I take on a day trip. One thing that annoys me is how difficult and noisy the zippers are. Perhaps that will improve with time. With the water bottles it is a bit wider than I like and I find myself brushing the sides quite often when hiking through the thick brush. Also, the included light did not work when I received the pack, but rather than waste time for an exchange I spent a couple bucks and replaced the batteries. The light is poorly designed and was constantly coming on even when the bag was not opened. I removed the little magnet that activates it when you open the bag and now it is manually controlled only. I find this works better and should help the battery life.
Good value but not big enough By Elkboy from Great Falls MT on 04/09/2008 Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Comfort Driven Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is a great value for someone that does not need to carry a lot of extra gear. It is too small for elk hunters who need to carry clothes to the top of the mountain in cold weather.
