I also ordered the narrow width, because I have had Birks before & they ran very wide. The fit in the size I ordered is perfect. I have BIG feet (normally wear women's 10.5-11), and some shoes make my feet look even more enormous---these do not. I actually think they make my feet look smaller! I have plantar fasciitis & can't go barefoot, so I put these on as soon as I get out of bed. They have excellent arch support without feeling stiff and uncomfortable. I will be watching for sales so I can order other colors.
