I finally bought it and I'm so glad I did! It's the real thing -- heavy crystal, beautifully cut, and a nice size. I expect to find a place of honor for it at my DIY wedding reception, and have fantasies of making trifle in it some time in the future. It could be either a display piece or a functional serving bowl. I'll be proud to pass it on to my (step)kids!
