They are heavy but excellent with the ever changing terrain of a telephone man-one minute I can work in a penthouse suite and then move to a flooded out neighborhood to play in the mud. Because I work summer and winter outside I didn't want the cloth lined boots that so many manufactures are producing now, I assume that is cheaper for them. The leather liner is cooler in the summer and (surprisingly) warm in the winter, with good socks.
I've worn these now for almost a year and the soles look almost new, I wear them 5 days a week and 8 to 10 hours a day. The leather has some wear but is still holding up to the water even after sloshing thru the floods that we have had in GA lately. I've stood in ankle deep water for over 2 hours with out any leakage and that is with out treating the leather. And even wore them to a wedding last weekend, please don't tell my brother in law that I wore my work boots to his wedding.
