By Orlie from Seattle, WA on 11/01/2009 Pros: Comfortable/No Break-In, Great Traction, Sturdy/Durable, Water Resistant Best Uses: Day Hiking, Harsh Terrain, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Casual/Recreational Sizing: Feels half size too small Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I have used these boots this fall in the Cascades in Washington. Probably 20 miles on three or four mountain hikes. They work quite well and are dry. This fall there has been a lot of running water on the trails and I have been dry and secure in the water and on snow.
Excellent all around hiking boot By PellaCPC from Northern Wisconsin on 10/28/2009 Pros: Ankle Support, Great Traction, Sturdy/Durable, Water Resistant Best Uses: Day Hiking, Harsh Terrain, Long-Distance Hiking, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I am a contractor that was looking for an all around boot. I never know when I leave in the morning what I might encounter during the day - snow, mud, sand, etc. This is an excellent quality boot that will meet my need for a boot I can rely on. I also use it for hunting, recently spending the day walking over varied terrain and through swampy ground. My feet did stay dry, however, my experience with any GoreTex product is that it always works when new, but not for very long. I will be putting some waterproofing on shortly. The boot is a little stiff, but any good hiking boot will be. The inside is not leather however, so hard-core backpackers may want to look elsewhere. All in all, a very nice boot for the cost.
By Tree climber from Malvern, PA on 10/27/2009 Pros: Flexible, Sturdy/Durable Describe Yourself: Arborist Tree climber Sizing: Feels half size too big, Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I am an arborist and need a boot that would be durable enough to foot lock up rope and stand in tight branch crotches and not break down. These boot are not too heavy and don't feel like ski boots. After a solid month or two of climbing in them they are working out in every respect. I would recommend them to any of my peers.
