By Carloskid from Hilton Head Island, SC on 11/04/2008 Pros: Ankle Support, Arch Support, Comfortable/No Break-In, Flexible Best Uses: Day Hiking, Light Loads Describe Yourself: Casual/Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I just replaced a pair of heavy old Danner boots with these. They weigh about half as much. I've taken two dayhikes in the NC mountains and they performed well. I find the footbed a bit hard, but after about 14 miles of varied terrain, no blisters or rubs. The midsole shank allows stepping on sharp rock etc. without the shoe bending.

A little stiff to begin with, but once you get them broke in they feel great. The only issue is the metal shoe lace hooks, they try to pinch your laces. Other than that, I'm glad I bought these boots.
