Ready to go right out of the box By Joshua the artist from St. Paul MN on 10/28/2009 Pros: Ankle Support, Arch Support, Comfortable/No Break-In, Flexible, Great Traction, Sturdy/Durable, Warm, Water Resistant Best Uses: Cold Weather, Day Hiking, Everyday, Harsh Terrain, Heavy Loads, Light Loads, Long-Distance Hiking, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Casual/Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I am a full time artist and parent - so i am either hiking with my 30 pound kid in the backpack or with about 20 pounds of easel and other gear - and once i am set up to work - i am usually standing for several hours. I found these boots to be comfortable and supportive right out of the box. The boots were equally comfortable on a cement bridge deck as they were scrambling up and down wet and loose bluffs.

I find that the boots made in Italy and Romainia are exceptional in this sector. this is my 5th pair of this type and i am still using the first pair on really dirty jobs. they last. and i can assure you that I put them through rigorous workouts in all climates. I have just recieved these exact boots and am using them lighly for now untill my other pairs wear out completely. But they are of the same construction so i dont expect any problems in the long run. we will see in about 4 years where they stand. For really tough boots they are excellent for most jobs. If you need even tougher go with a mountain or rough terrain boot which i also use in the same makes as in Asolo and Scarpa.
