Perfect for work and sport ! ! ! I have given away all my white cotton socks. I only wear Smartwool. I love the Brindle model because of the pros mentioned above. I live in Wisconsin, and work 8 hrs a day in a hot factory wearing steel toed boots. Wearing these socks keep my feet much drier and cooler than cotton, even in the summer! Not to gross you out, but I tried an experiment where I wore one pair to work for 4 days straight, and on the 5th morning, the socks still did not stink! I also wear these Brindle socks when doing outdoor activities-camping,kayaking,hunting,hiking...they are very soft against my skin. They are warm in winter, and when I'm outdoors, in the elements, even wet, they seem to hold the heat in to keep my feet feeling warm. I throw them in a cold water wash load of laundry and dry in the dryer with the same load on a low setting. I've also just hung them to air dry. Great versitility for a pair of socks. You won't be disappointed.

After a long day of hiking I couldn't wait to get them off.
